Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, Unveiled…

Recently, 20th edition of the Times Higher Education(THE) World University Ranking 2024 have been released.

News Jungal Desk: 2024 rankings are based on 18 key indicators across five areas:

Teaching (29.5%)

Research Environment(29%)

Research Quality(30%)

Industry(4%)

International Outlook(7.5%).

It includes 1904 universities from 108 countries and regions.

University of Oxford has secured the highest rank, followed by,

Stanford university,

the Massachusetts institute of technology(MIT),

Harvard university

University of Cambridge

91 Indian universities have secured place in the worldwide ranking.

Top Indian University the Indian Institute of Science(IISc) has returned to global top 250, coming in the 201-250 band, for the first time since 2017.

Second Highest ranked Indian universities in India are

Anna university,

Jamia Millia Islamia,

Mahatma Gandhi university,

which are all in 501-600 band.

Top Indian Institute of Technology(IIT’s) continues to boycott the rankings for the fourth consecutive year.

India is now the fourth best represented nation in the rankings, with the highest 91 indian institutions in the list.

Asia is the most represented continent in the rankings, with 737 universities, China and Japan have improved their ranking, contributing in the increase in Asian universities in the top 200.

India has well and truly embraced the international competition, with an unprecedented 91 universities making it into the Times Higher Education World University Ranking this year.
